Pete from Hartpury in the mix for the job at Loughborough, news coming in that Hartpury has reduced or pulled funding.
Editors note: Warm. Transfer gossip is a new section for us. Jose has left Loughborough, Pete has connections to EF, would make sense. A couple of credible sources. Rumour is that Hartpury has stopped or reduced funding of Futsal, which would be a shame.
As confirmed on LinkedIn by the interim CEO, Phil Smith, Futsal is eligible to apply for funding – https://www.sportengland.org/funding-and-campaigns/our-funding/movement-fund
Editors note: For a long time this has been pushed for, and now the CEO, Phil Smith, has confirmed that funding is available. ALL FUTSAL SIDES GET APPLYING. This might just beat Dell Hot!
Quiet period whilst most are on holiday, but whilst the Futsal community awaits the SLA agreement we thought we’d share the document of communication between the then England side and the FA.
Document of response by the FA to the England team (2020) – Response from FA.
Editors note: No rating here, historical value whilst waiting for the SLA. Aware some where asked to remove this document before, but transparency in the sport can only help the sport.
The NFL Cup will have a prize pot for the up and coming season through a sponsor and Danny remains the person in charge of the league.
Editors note: As with all rumours that come into us, some are true and some are false (EF taking over the league). Good job on getting a cup sponsor… we wonder if the NFS will follow suit? This is Dell hot, confirmed by multiple people.
Second Futsal representative not joining (or blocked) the National Game Board, 3 years its been promised, no progress and no intention of appointing a 2nd rep.
Editors note: Dell hot (reading between this lines this couldn’t be appropriate), this comes from a source so close to the truth its highly likely to be gospel. Its either deliberately moving like treacle or its blocked and they’ve canned the role. Its easy to approve ideas when the only person validating them is looking in the mirror…. seems to be a problem across the Futsal spectrum.
The FA will publish the SLA / Contractual agreement between the National Futsal Series and itself.
Editors note: Well, well, well… last week we broke the news of this happening, we thought it was ice cold, BUT tonight the league confirmed that they will share the agreement between itself and the FA. Dell hot.
Mark Birkett brought up the possibility of referees having a hotel room paid for the night before a game! This is a season old, but possibly to be asked for again?
Editors note: This came from a very credible source, so we’d rank this as red hot, but as its a season old and was rebuffed by the league we’re marking this as ice cold.
East Riding has been relegated to T2 (confirmed), Bolton B not relegated but Bloomsbury B gets a reprieval.
Editors note: Can anyone make sense of the ins and outs of the teams up and down. Contrary to what a lot of people think (and what alot of clubs wanted), we originally said all relegations stand or no relegations. As there were no relegations across the board, then East Riding shouldn’t have been relegated or Bolton, Bloomsbury and East Riding should have been relegated. Rating Dell hot.
With the FA coffers swollen (pre-Covid £39m in the bank, 2024 £318m in the bank), theres consideration of giving Futsal some much needed money to rebuild the game.
Editors note: Never going to happen, as long there is a Bullingham and Dell in charge, no money will go towards Futsal, not a penny. Instead they will double down on the already struggling clubs to fund the game. Forget ice cold, this is ice-age levels of cold.
England Futsal women’s team to be brought back in-house under the FA’s control due to success of the women’s game.
Editors note: I don’t know what to feel about this. On the positive side, they value the achievements, but surely thats down to the work of EF not the FA and would demonstrate the FA taking over other peoples hard work. And then there is discrimination against the mens side if this is true which is concerning. Scoring as a warm (for now)
